The Leprosy Mission Northern Ireland
Sector in which the organization works:
Short description of the organization and its work to control and eliminate NTDs
The Leprosy Mission Northern Ireland (TLMNI) is not just yet another good cause to be supported. It is a means of allowing us to understand and respond to the challenge of bringing about the Kingdom of God in the many parts of the world where leprosy is found.
Since its foundation by an Irishman in 1874, the Mission has sought to reach out, in Jesus’ name, to some of the most disadvantaged people in the world.
Each year over 200,000 new cases of leprosy are diagnosed and many of these already have serious disfigurement and disability because they were not treated soon enough.
TLM reaches out with the love of Jesus Christ to those whom society neglects and ignores. It is the only Christian organisation dedicated to and working towards the total eradication of leprosy.
TLMNI is not merely a development agency or a medical charity, nor it is just a great humanitarian work – IT IS A CHANNEL FOR GOD’S LOVE TO PEOPLE WHO SUFFER FROM LEPROSY.
