Short description of the organization and its work to control and eliminate NTDs

Save the Children is the world's leading independent organization for children, working in over 120 countries around the world. Our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting positive change in their lives. School Health and Nutrition (SHN) addresses the critical health and nutrition factors that keep children out of school and reduce their ability to learn effectively while in school. The essential elements of an effective SHN program includes: ensuring equitable health related school policies; increase access to safe and hygienic learning environment; promote healthy behaviors through skills-based health education and increase health and nutrition services for school age children. These elements are critical to the short and long-term control of NTDs (specifically STH, schistosomiasis and trachoma).
