The Kigali Summit on Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) was a landmark moment for the global NTD community.
Held alongside the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and hosted by the Government of Rwanda, the Summit galvanised unprecedented action and financial commitment to end the devastating burden of NTDs. Attended by presidents, prime ministers, CEOs, philanthropists, scientific experts, global influencers, community champions and affected individuals, the Summit marked the first ever joint Heads of State summit on NTDs and malaria in Africa. The Summit also featured the launch of the historic Kigali Declaration on NTDs – a high-level political declaration that has already secured the largest collective financial commitment towards NTDs to date.
